I am a Parent Governor and have had two daughters at school. I regularly help out at the school and enjoy seeing how happy and committed the pupils are and the dedication from the staff.
I currently run my own building and maintenance business with my husband but have previously worked as a lecturer in environmental law and conservation and as a waste management assessor and internal verifier. I have a keen interest in sustainability and the importance of environmental education for young children and I look forward to working with the Governing Body.
I am a Staff Governor. I have worked at Fulwood and Cadley for over five years and have taught in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I lead Science and Global learning across school, and have previously managed Geography.
I have a keen interest in the importance of outdoor learning for young children and how this can have a positive affect on their mental health. I have demonstrated strengths in working with children with complex needs.
I look forward to working with the Governing Body.
I am a Community Governor. I have been associated with school for the past 24 years, firstly as a parent, then as a parent helper and in 2000 I became a member of staff. I am currently a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) covering classes for teachers PPA sessions, illness and courses. I am subject leader for DT (Design & Technology). I currently run Friends of Fulwood and Cadley, with the help of my colleagues and parents, which I have been involved in for over 20 years.
I look forward to working with the Governing Body and being involved in a side of the school that I have not had experience of.
I have been a Parent Governor for two years and a member of the PTA for 6 years. I currently work in Higher Education in an administrative role. I enjoy walking my dogs and spending time with my family. I have recently taken up crochet and seem to have become a little obsessed with it so have a project on the go most of the time – I’ve even managed to make something that I can actually wear! Being part of the school community is something I find very rewarding, and it is lovely to see that there is a happy and committed atmosphere within school which I believe is fundamental to children’s learning and wellbeing.
I am a community governor at Fulwood and Cadley Primary School. I am also the school Counsellor. Professionally I gained my degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Derby University after being an Executive PA for over 20 years and a childminder for 5 years. I am also the managing director of Ara Counselling Ltd, which supports people within our community with their mental health offering one-to-one sessions for both young people and adults. Currently I am also a postgraduate researcher studying to gain my PhD in mental health at Lancaster University.
Having two teenage daughters I am passionate about mental health for young people and being the best, you can be. With up-to-date continuing professional development and research, I look forward to bringing these skills to the governing body and the school as a whole family.
I am a Community Governor. I am a primary school teacher and I have been for 8 years. I am passionate about giving children a broad range of experiences in and out of school. I have particular interests in Maths and PE. I love supporting the school to drive standards forwards.
I am a Parent Governor. I manage properties and work at a local supermarket. I am always happy to get stuck in, supporting school with their activities through volunteering at Lunchalots and in the classroom.
I am a Local Authority Governor. I spent eight years in child protection social work and five years teaching in primary schools both in the UK and abroad. I currently work at the University of Central Lancashire where I teach and look after students in a pastoral capacity. Originally from Bury near Manchester, I have lived here in Preston for over 30 years. I believe that we should always be looking to learn and be the best we can be. With that in mind, my hope is that I can bring my knowledge of what is best for our young children to the school and learn something from the experience in return. I am looking forward to working with all governors and staff for the benefit of the children and the school.
